If a Red person can change their approach to MLM to one of coaching and mentoring, they have one tremendous advantage over the rest of us - their drive and their strong unshakable belief in themselves.

Unfortunately, they are only usually coachable when life has ground them down. When things are going well again, they go back to their old ways and become un-coachable again.

Blues love to have fun. Sure the money may be good but they won't hang around if is boring. Their infectious ways will have people hanging around just to pick up the 'vibe'. It can be very hard for a blue to stay focussed on the steps to build an MLM business because they are off chasing the next glittering bauble. They can be 'Spinners'.

Understanding where people are coming from is essential in MLM so that you know how to give information to someone. How much. The type. The flavour of the communication. Color to Success will give you that.

The power of listening

One advantage of using Color to Success is that you have to shut up and listen for clues while the other person is talking - very important for Reds and Blues. They could even become good listeners. Works wonders at home too.

When we look at our character traits, we know we have strengths - which we play to - and weaknesses which we try to cover up.

But here is an idea to play with. Our strengths are also our weaknesses. Let's start with the Reds again. The utter faith they have in themselves to prevail is such a blessing. The downside in MLM? I know of several Reds who have done well in MLM but it all turned to custard because they hooked up with a Company that cheated them out of the residual income. It was in the Policies & Procedures but Reds are not good at research.

Contrast this with the Green personality who can give you all the research but is always in danger of never actually getting it off the ground. Their need for systems and order has them bogged down.

To Reds and Greens it is the what and how of the task that matters most, so they can be a bit abrasive. Sorry. But people just don't matter as much..

If you concentrate on the money you will find that you will turn off those caring Yellows. They are the nurturers. people as individuals and groups matter most. As long as everyone is happy, a Yellow is happy. But you can't keep everyone happy all the time in business. A Yellow business can look more like a knitting circle. At least if you have a few Blues, you can have some fun.

About now, the Blues will be clicking off to somewhere else. The Reds are thinking that they know it all and the Greens want to know more. The Yellows? The people watchers do know most of this but will doubt themselves

Just a word of caution - Very few of us are just one colour and you have a better chance of success if you learn to be a chameleon.
